A Winter Mini Session with Jessica and Chloe Walters
Winter mini sessions at the tree farm are some of my favorite times of the year. There’s something magical about the festive trees, cozy setups, and the joy that families bring to each session. Over the years, I’ve captured many families during these seasonal sessions, often adding special touches like vintage trucks or even Santa in past years. One family I’ve had the privilege of working with multiple times is the Walters, particularly young Chloe, who I’ve been photographing for several years now.
While I’ve done many sessions with Chloe, it’s always extra special when her mom, Jessica, joins in. I’ve had the honor of photographing Chloe and Jessica together twice, most recently during last winter’s mini session at the tree farm. Their bond as mother and daughter is so beautiful, and it’s always a joy to capture that connection. Last winter’s session brought its own unique challenges, as we faced some intermittent rain. But rather than let it dampen our spirits, we embraced the moment and found a cozy covered area of the farm, surrounded by more trees, which provided a perfect festive backdrop.
What made their session particularly special was the addition of personal touches. Chloe brought along her favorite stuffed penguin, and we used a fun coffee cup prop to add warmth and personality to the shots. These small details captured Chloe’s joyful spirit and made the session feel truly authentic to them.
This year, I’m excited to offer a vintage red truck as part of select mini sessions at the tree farm, adding a timeless, rustic feel for families who want to create extra-special holiday memories.
To give you a behind-the-scenes look at our session last winter, I asked Jessica to share her thoughts.
How did you find out about Creative Chelle Studio?
Jessica: From a friend.
What kind of session did we capture for you?
Jessica: A Lifestyle Christmas Mini session.
How did you feel about our ability to make you comfortable and capture your desired moments?
Jessica: Michelle and her assistant did a great job helping me feel comfortable in my own skin. My daughter loved the session, and they captured so many great shots without the posing feeling forced or artificial.
Were there any specific moments or aspects of the session that stood out to you?
Jessica: The weather was not cooperating, but Michelle made the very best of it, taking advantage of the intermittent rain and transitioning to a covered area with more trees at the farm. Chloe’s favorite stuffed penguin and the coffee cup prop added such a personal touch to the session, which made it feel even more special.
How did we capture the vision or mood you were hoping for?
Jessica: My hope was to capture my daughter’s love of all things Christmas and to have some updated mommy-and-daughter moments. Creative Chelle Studio went above and beyond, getting everything I had hoped for!
What did you enjoy most about working with us?
Jessica: I loved how quickly they helped us feel confident to enjoy the session.
Would you recommend us to others, and if so, why?
Jessica: Absolutely! It’s a great experience from beginning to end!
While I’ve photographed Chloe many times, the sessions with both Jessica and Chloe always feel extra special. Despite the rainy weather last winter, their warmth, love, and playful energy made every moment shine. I’m so grateful they continue to trust me to document these meaningful memories year after year.
If you’re interested in creating your own holiday magic this year, I’m excited to bring back the tree farm sessions with the addition of a beautiful vintage red truck for select mini sessions. Don’t miss your chance to capture these timeless moments with your loved ones!
